Blepharoplasty: Brow Drop and Under-Eye Surgery

It can be performed at any age, although as the tissues relax, their presence will be more pronounced.
It is a quick surgery with an easy postoperative period and lasting results. This technique may be done alone or together with other aesthetic surgical techniques aiming to eliminate facial wrinkles or flabbiness.
Procedure
Normally, blepharoplasty is done with local anesthesia and sedation, and patient remains awake though sedated, and only in seldom cases is used general anesthesia.
Surgery to brow drop consists in removing the skin excess and restore the normal tension of the muscle. If necessary, it is also removed fat bags. The under-eye bags surgery may be done in two different ways:
- 1st – externally: by a small incision under the eyelids, from which fat bags are taken out, closing with fine suture that will serve also as a skin and orbicular muscle tensor.
- 2nd – internally: by a small incision inside the bag, without external wound, where the fat is taken out by an internal mucous. It does not need suture and this tissue closes really well on itself. The duration of the surgery is around one hour.
Recovering
After surgery, the patient rests for 24 hours and may return to normal routine between the 5th and the 7th day after surgery.
When the signs of fatigue and facial aging disappear, the face will look younger and healthier and the eyes seem bigger.
